Reporting to the President and CEO, this goal-oriented executive will embrace and implement the mission and core values of SCPH throughout all duties performed. The Chief Financial Officer will directly supervise the three members of the senior finance team. The successful candidate will bring: • Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with a non-profit Board, a strong leader, a results-oriented senior management team, and a committed staff with high standards and expectations. • Minimum 10 years of strategic, successful, senior-level financial operations experience in a well-managed company/organization that has multiple facilities across a broad geographic region; knowledge of 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organizations and/or senior services industry desired; past CFO experience strongly preferred. • Passion for the mission of SCPH and working with seniors and a commitment to providing exceptional services. • Experience with short- and long-term financing, real estate finance, bond underwriting and conventional financing; knowledge of current investment techniques and regulations. • Strong written and oral communications skills; ability to clearly, confidently and convincingly present analyses and recommendations around major financial decisions. • Master’s Degree in Business or additional degrees in relevant field(s), advanced university and/or continuing education in finance, business or accounting. CPA a plus. • Recognized expertise in financial controls, strategic business planning, information systems, and administration. • Significant supervisory experience, including hiring, developing, mentoring and evaluating both exempt and nonexempt staff. • Management style that fosters a team approach, nurtures creativity, encourages positive discussion and creates a solution-oriented culture. Successful track record of supervising and collaborating with staff in a manner that is flexible and supportive, yet ensures accountability, and as a hands-on change agent. • High degree of computer proficiency. • Experience with not-for-profits a plus, but not required.
