From a dusty strategic plan to a fluid adaptive framework
Organizations often invest heavily in strategic plans that quickly lose relevance. This session explores a shift from static planning to a dynamic adaptive framework. Through a live case study, participants will see how leadership goals are aligned, accountability is strengthened, and strategy becomes an active part of daily operations. You will gain practical insights into creating a living framework that drives alignment, adaptability and sustained organizational progress.

Charles Wickham, Director of Donor Development, Pinnacle Living
For over eight years, Charles has served Pinnacle Living following his retirement as a United Methodist pastor of 31 years. In this role, Charles generates philanthropic opportunities for the six communities of Pinnacle Living. He also provides information and education about Pinnacle Living to The Virginia Annual Conference regarding donor engagement and philanthropic opportunities including raising awareness of and funds for The Samaritan Program, Pinnacle Living's benevolence support program which has been a core element of Pinnacle Living's mission since its founding in 1948.
Cultivation and stewardship are more than a free lunch
Donor cultivation and stewardship are central to effective philanthropy. Cultivation builds trust by engaging prospective supporters through authentic relationships and clear communication. Stewardship sustains those relationships by valuing donors and connecting them to the impact of their giving. Together, they foster loyalty, encourage continued support, and create partnerships grounded in gratitude, transparency, and shared purpose.

Keynote: Raising more right now: practical fundraising systems for faith-based senior living
This session establishes a practical baseline: What are the most im-portant, high-leverage actions senior living fundraisers can take this quarter to stabilize and grow giving? Drawing on benchmarking in-sights and common patterns across faith-based elder care communi-ties, we’ll identify the 6–8 “leverage points” that consistently drive results seen in .resident-family gratitude, church partnerships, adult-child communications, mid-level donor care, and planned giving signals. Attendees will complete a short diagnostic and leave with a tailored action plan.

Cherian Koshy, Vice President, Kindsight. PAHSA 2026 Consultant in Residence.

Enhancing memory support programming through philanthropy
Memory support programming is evolving rapidly, yet budget con-straints can limit innovation. Westminster Ingleside Foundation partners will share across departments to develop donor-ready initiatives that integrate best practices, technology and engagement strategies. Attendees will learn to craft compelling cases for support, secure funding, and steward gifts, creating sustainable, research-informed memory programs that enhance resident experience and empower staff.

Claire Meltzer, Director of Development, Westminster Ingleside Foundation
Claire is a philanthropy professional dedicated to driving meaningful impact through collaborative initiatives. With experience at The American Heart Association and MedStar Montgomery Medical Center, Claire leverages her expertise in program development and donor engagement to catalyze transformative projects that enhance organizational programming, donor experiences, and staff engagement.

Kate Kavitski, Director of Development, Westminster Ingleside Foundation
Kate has spent 15 years serving senior living communities, bringing creativity, strategy, and heart to every role. As Director of Development, she advances giving, donor recognition, and events, championing innovation, endowment growth, and forward-thinking initiatives that enrich life and strengthen the Ingleside community. Kate played a key role in developing and opening a Center for Healthy Living and Memory Support-Assisted Living, combining vision with operational expertise.
Keynote: Do more with what you already have: using CRM messaging frameworks and AI to multiply capacity"
Most faith-based senior living fundraisers aren’t short on passion — they’re short on time. This hands-on workshop shows participants how to use the tools they already have more effectively. We’ll map their CRM into a simple “memory system,” clean up their donor segments, and practice live exercises: writing AI-assisted thank-you notes, generating adult-child donor messages, drafting church/community partner updates, and summarizing key interactions. Everything taught will be ethical, mission-appropriate, and relationship-safe.
